







1) Awards
a. Whitney Awards will be given for the following categories
i. Romance/Women’s Literature
ii. Mystery/Suspense
iii. Speculative Fiction
v. YA/Children's Literature
v. Historical
vi. Novel of the Year
vii. Best Novel by a New Author (for special eligibility requirements, see 2.g.)
b. Any changes to the awards listed above can only be made by a majority vote of the LDStorymakers Management Core
2) Eligibility for Awards
a. Novels must be released between January 1st and December 31st of the award year.
b. Novels must be written by a member/members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
c. Novels are eligible whether or not the author is a member of LDStorymakers, Inc.
d. Novels are eligible whether or not they have been published by traditionally LDS publishers.
e. Reprints or re-released novels are not eligible to receive Whitney Awards, unless the nominator provides persuasive evidence to the Whitney Awards Committee that significant and substantial changes have been made to the original version.
f. Novels written or published by members of the Whitney Awards Committee are not eligible during any years that author has served on the committee.
g. For the award Best Novel by a New Author, the nominated novel must be the first novel-length work published by the author in any format. “Novel-length” is defined as any work greater than 50,000 words.
